Country Availability
Where Tulparus is offered, and where customer data is stored.
Tulparus is offered to organisations, not to individuals.
Sign-up is not available for organisations registered or located in these countries:
- Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Syria, because of sanctions and export controls; and
- China (including Hong Kong and Macau), Russia and Venezuela, which are countries of concern under the US Department of Justice rule on sensitive personal data (28 CFR Part 202).
Tulparus must not be used in or for the Crimea, so-called Donetsk People's Republic and so-called Luhansk People's Republic regions of Ukraine.
We update these lists when the rules change.
Data locations
The country of the organisation's registration determines which data locations and agreements apply. Customer data is stored in the location chosen for the organisation when it is set up, or in its order form, and stays there. The kinds of location are described in the Security Overview. Organisation setup shows the locations offered to each organisation; a location listed here is not a promise that it is open in every case. Options marked Enterprise need an Enterprise plan.
- European Union, European Economic Area and Switzerland: the European Union location (Frankfurt, Germany), recommended; a dedicated location in Frankfurt and a private installation (Enterprise). The United States and United Kingdom locations are not offered. In Germany an air-gapped installation is also offered (Enterprise), and a private installation is recommended for public and university hospitals. In France a sovereign national cloud is offered in place of a dedicated location (Enterprise), and is recommended for public and university bodies.
- United Kingdom: the United Kingdom location (London), recommended; the European Union location, with the written agreement of the organisation's information governance lead; a dedicated location in London and a private installation (Enterprise). The United States location is not offered.
- Türkiye: the Türkiye location, recommended; a private installation and an air-gapped installation (Enterprise). Private laboratories may also choose the European Union location, with the standard contract of the Personal Data Protection Authority. Public and university bodies: a private installation is recommended, and the European Union location is not offered. The United States location is not offered.
- United States: the United States location, recommended; a dedicated location in the United States and a private installation (Enterprise). The European Union and United Kingdom locations are not offered as standard. Organisations in Texas and Florida are kept in the United States.
- Other countries: a custom region, in any Amazon Web Services region or with a qualified provider in the organisation's country, and a private installation (Enterprise); or the European Union or United States location, where the organisation's national rules allow health data to leave the country, after our review of those rules.
